From the mouth of the Schlei to Ærøskøbing: At the 43rd Peter Gast Sailing Regatta on August 22, 2026, the JND39 “Sakura,” entered by LOEWE MARINE and Promarin, took fourth place in the ORC-Club A class. The crew faced another particularly challenging return trip on Sunday, with winds reaching up to 35 knots.
A team from LOEWE MARINE participated in the 43rd Peter Gast Sailing Regatta—one of the largest sailing events in the maritime industry. Just over 100 yachts in eight classes took to the water on August 22, 2026.
The event kicked off on Friday with the arrival in Maasholm at the mouth of the Schleim, where participants had their first reunion in the harbor. On Saturday, starting at 9:00 a.m., the fleet set off in groups for the race from the mouth of the Schleim to the Danish island of Ærø. The JND39 “Sakura,” entered by Promarin and LOEWE MARINE and helmed by Thomas Reinecke, reached the finish line after a sailing time of 4:10:44 hours. In the calculated standings, this meant fourth place in Class 8 (ORC Club A) among 14 yachts, as well as 13th place in the overall ORC Club standings.
“Three wonderful days on the water and on land—with strong winds, a great team, and many special encounters,” sums up Carsten Löhmer, managing director of LOEWE MARINE.
The finish in the old harbor of Ærøskøbing stretched into the evening: At the invitation of the municipality, the crews paraded through town together before the awards ceremony took place in the festival tent. For LOEWE MARINE, the evening provided an opportunity to talk with shipping companies, shipyards, and suppliers from all over Europe. After a group regatta breakfast on Sunday morning, the yachts set off on their individual journeys home—for the crew of the “Sakura,” this meant sailing back to Wendtorf near Laboe amid gusts of up to 35 knots. “What an experience,” said Löhmer.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the regatta embodies the company’s identity: “For us at LOEWE MARINE, the maritime world isn’t just part of our daily business—it’s also about passion, team spirit, and personal connections,” Löhmer emphasizes. “Three days on the JND39 allowed us to experience exactly that once again.”

Participation in the 44th Shipping Regatta next year is already firmly planned: “Three days filled with sailing, team spirit, networking, and a sense of maritime camaraderie—we’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year,” said Löhmer.
